But I like a serious catchy and upbeat song. You see…the whole point is to convey the idea and raise awareness without boring or alienate the kids whilst keeping them dancing. Like a subliminal message”.

Turismo Girlfriend World Tour comes from Paris, France. Not Paris, Texas but also not “Paris” Paris, but the eastern suburbs where the towers reach higher than your dreams. A colorful backdrop to her childhood, she grows up on a diet of Pop, French New Wave and Zouk with a zest of Hip Hop and some Funk for good measure. Although she quickly moves on and spends her teenage years listening to Indie Rock/ Britpop and happily getting angry in her council estate bedroom feeding on Nirvana and all the grunge.
HER dream is to sing. It’s always been… But facing life’s necessities - “surely, I can’t get a job out of that??”-and the usual but accepted self-esteem problems, she only gets to write music when she moves to New York, “God Bless America”. 13 years in London has only vaguely awaken the desire she had barely prompted in France with her very short lived indie rock quartet, but not fulfilled the needs of her yearning.
In 2012, she makes the jump to come to America for work reasons and it reveals her passion in broad daylight. She is uncovered.
She then goes to singing class, writes and finds herself partnering with Mike Irish from Shifted Recording Studio and Yianni Anastos -Prastacos in Los Angeles. Her love of Pop had survived years of working at independent record labels and listening to Radiohead on a loop and she got back to the source of her youthful pleasures. They write 5 songs altogether, infused with Caribbean rhythms and a little Electro and influenced by the likes Banks and FKA Twigs for a little darkness but also 80’s Madonna, Sia, Rihanna or Mabel. 4 tracks get released as her first eponymous E.P. “Turismo Girlfriend World Tour” in late 2018, whilst the last track is the one being released this month, on Friday January 17th 2020.
