Punchu - We'll Name It On The Wok - Featured
Punchu is an indie rock band from Whitby, Ontario. Formed in the summer of 2017, the band quickly began getting picked up from the local DIY scene. Their eclectic mix of post-punk, prog, new wave and jazz influenced instrumentation in songs quickly caught the attention of the community. Punchu’s lyrics are what can be described as emo satire, getting serious with heavy topics such as baseball, Canadian living, not being fish, the moral status of stepping on ants, and most importantly: their love of food. They draw stylistic influence from bands such as Pixies, Sonic Youth, Pavement, Ovlov, Tera Melos, and PUP among many more.
