Amanda Pants explains the new single: b Itb s that feeling of having idealized someone, only to discover they didn't deserve it. Or when you thought you knew someone, but they revealed a different side. This song explores the disorienting feeling of realizing you were wrong about someone or something.b The recording of "Royalty" took place at multiple locations, including Metalworks Studios in Mississauga, Todd's Place in Harrowsmith, and Fake Cake Lodge in Kingston. The drum recording was engineered by Camille Comeau, with additional recording by Ted Evans. Mixing was handled by Ian Docherty, while the mastering was expertly completed by Elisa Kady Pangsaeng at CPS Mastering in Vancouver, BC.
The new video for b Royalty" was directed, shot, and edited by Josh Lyon (akaflk productions). Ted Evans shares his experience: b The video shoot was in a beautiful, older building with no air conditioning on one of the hottest days of the year. Working with Josh was fantastic; he really brought the video to life. Jackson, our bassist, was featured prominently, especially in the bass-driven section after the guitar solo, which is one of my favorite parts of the album.b b Initially, I didn't think Royalty would make the album, but once the lyrics came together, it took on a different feeling for the band. Alastair and Jackson added parts that quickly made it a standout track.
