Rachel Arnold - Happy Heartbreak - Featured Artist
Rachel Arnold presents her song Happy Heartbreak . Rache is an artist and songwriter from Hornchurch, Essex. She has been writing songs for 2 years. Her artistic style is unusual but in a good way. It is very left field, bittersweet folky pop and spoken word. She feels that she has found her voice. “The music is always chopped to fit my words rather than the other way round” Rachel says. As it’s leading up to Christmas Rachel has decided to donate the proceeds from this single and the original version of Happy Heartbreak to Cancer Research UK and now she wants to spread the word about her donation.
The project
I’m sure someone at some point has known a person who has had cancer. It’s a bugger of a disease and there is still no cure or much government funding for it. Is "Happy Heartbreak" based on personal experience? Most definitely! But I would also say it is based on other people’s personal experiences too. My life, like most people’s, has been a balance of positivity and sadness. There have been times when I’ve lost my sense of direction or have had a setback. During those situations I have thought to myself, “I can’t go on anymore. What’s the point?” But at same time I have always had an overriding thought that says, “You never know where this will all lead to. Keep going.”
I am an optimist and do believe as one door closes, another one opens. I am hopeful. Onto the next adventure. I also believe that everything happens in your life for a reason. I put a lot of effort into this song and I would like to raise as much money as possible from it to give to charity. That can only be a good thing.
Let’s see if we can donate a bit of wonga!
